We host a vareity of events throughout the year. If you would like to support our events like the Queer Heal Fair, Transgender Day of Visisblity, etc., by setting up, transporting supplies, breaking down at the end, as well as tabling  and assisting guests during events.

Seeking Trans folks of color with the capacity to offer some emotional support, friendship, advice, and nibling energy to folks living within our housing program.

The Food Pantry at the LGBTQ Center of Durham supports community with free food. consumable household and personal care items. Volunteers fill a variety of roles including shopping support at local stores and the Food Bank of NC, assisting shoppers, keeping inventory, etc.

Greet our visitors, and answer the phones. There will be additonal projects for those intereste in helping in other ways while at the desk. Training provided. Seeking regular commitment and ocassional fill-in assistance for our daily shifts between 10 and 6, 6 days a week

Description
The Queer Health Fair hosted by the LGBTQ Center of Durham takes place at Durham Central Park in March and October, usually on a Sunday, at Durham Central Park. The goal of this event is to reduce the barriers that may limit LGBTQ+ folx from getting their needs met, including financial barriers. If you are interested in participating in our health-centerd events, please sign up for this project, and be sure to include your interests and skills on the interest form.

We are seeking on-going and occassional assistance for skilled tasks.  Are you handy with wall mounting a televison? or art? Do you know your way around small network set up and manitentance?  Are you a whiz at putting together furniture?  Choose this option and we'll have a conersation about how you can help us as needed.

Are you passionate about awareness and education around intimate partner violence? We seek experienced volunteers for a variety of tasks to support the Southern Queer Survivor Network.

The Tran & GNC Closet provides clothing, accessories and other items to the Center's clients and other community members. This role is for you if you like to keep account of items coming and going, and keep order in the 'shop'. Hours can be flexible and we can likely work around your schedule.

Our Youth Center serves young people ages 12-24, you will offer programming for folks younger and older on ocassion.Youth Center volunteers can help organize and staff events, and programming at the Center and in the community
